How to Cleanse Your Liver for More Energy, Better Moods and Vibrant Health
by Dodee Schmitt
It is amazing to note that our liver’s perform the great job of over 600 functions in our bodies.
Almost every challenging health condition in the body has started with a clogged up liver. Synthetic hormones, bacteria, parasites, junk food, pesticides — it all ends up in your liver. Even negative thinking leaves an imprint in the liver if it has not been released and forgiven.
The liver filters out the toxic waste in your body. It also makes glucose which is your body’s energy supply. If you have low energy your liver is probably clogged. The healthier the liver is, the more ageless, happy and connected we are!
Let the Stress Go
The best thing to do is to let go of the things that are causing the liver to age. Foods that are processed and denatured cause a toxic liver. Oils that are processed and heated cause toxic build up in the liver. Many environmental toxins get stored in the liver as well as negative emotions.
One of the best things we can do to love our liver is to clean out our colons, because the liver requires a clean colon to properly eliminate its waste. Doing so might consist of a 10-day juice program, or go to a reputable site for a great colon cleanse like Dr. Schulz , Dr. Group or Markus Rothkranz.
You might also consider doing enemas during this time to assist the body in clearing stagnant waste.
Now that you are ready to clean the liver, the best way to clean out your liver is to consume bitter herbs and foods. When you put bitter foods onto your tongue this creates a signature and sends a message to a the main nerve called the vagus nerve to communicate with the liver. When this happens, the liver will then dump its waste into the colon.
Stay hydrated and flush out the toxins with plenty of clean water. One of the best plants to consume to clean your liver is dandelion. You will want to consume the entire plant including the flower because the flower holds the lecithin which dissolves the bad fats that get stored in the liver. Not only does it stimulate the liver when ingested, but it also communicates with the digestive system to produce hydrochloric acid which often is weak in those who have digestive issues or excessive toxicity. This will increase bile production and enzyme creation in the pancreas.
How to Lovingly Talk to Your Liver and Gallbladder
In Taoist Yoga the liver represents the wood element and it resonates with the spring season, a wonderful time to cleanse. The gallbladder is the associated organ.
The emotions of the liver on the positive side are kindness and generosity. The negative emotions are anger and frustration. The sound of the liver is the “Shhhhh” sound.
To heal and restore the liver, breathe the color green into the organ, allowing it rejuvenate. Imagine the green light of the liver over flowing into the gallbladder. Next blow out black smoke color (the toxins) while creating the “Shhhh” sound. This is a vital component to healing the liver and gallbladder meridians, and part of a very powerful healing system.
A great healing affirmation for our liver could be:
“Love and Peace and Joy are What I Know.”
A great healing affirmation for the gallbladder could be:
“There is Joyous Release of The Past. Life is Sweet and So Am I.”
(The above affirmations are quoted from Louise Hay’s book, “You Can Heal Your Life.”)
If you choose to do a liver/gallbladder flush, the above affirmations and sounds with color healing are great tools to have while clearing house.
Extra Care for a Happier Liver & Gallbladder
Coffee enemas prior to your flush are a great way to begin the detoxification process.
I would also recommend using a castor oil pack over the liver in order to soften the stones.
Both of these tools can greatly assist the liver as it prepares for the flush.
Staying alkaline during this time is highly beneficial and incorporating fresh green salads and smoothies is a wonderful idea.
Take good care of your organs and remember, smiling to your organs is highly beneficial at reducing stress and maintaining health and longevity. The more we send communication to the organs that things are okay and all is well, the more we activate the true healing of the body. Do this anytime you are feeling stress or anxiety and breathe long, slow and deep!
Please Note: If you do not have a gallbladder, flushing is still important and highly beneficial to the liver. In this case, the liver has taken on an extra work load!
