Juliette’s Story: “How I Overcame Overwhelm & Got My Confidence Back”
Today we’re shining the light on Juliette Lacroix, one of our Virtual Lifestyle Design Retreat graduates. If you’ve never taken our programs or participated in an online course like this, you might be wondering how it works. Before coming on board, many of our clients wonder, “will I be able to get the same results as others?” “I’ve tried so many other things, what if this will be just like everything else?” “What if I give up like so many times in the past?”
We thought you might appreciate hearing the story of one of our most recent Virtual Retreat graduates. Just like so many of our clients she had tried just about everything when she came to this course. We promised her that if she made it to the end of the course and still had questions, needed support or felt something was missing, we would work with her to find the answers she needed.
When Juliette made it to the finish line, this was what she had to say…
1. What was your situation like before you started the virtual retreat?
Before I started the Virtual Retreat I felt really overwhelmed, and lacking in direction. I could see the ways in which I was falling short, but felt stuck, and unable to make the necessary changes in order to move forward. I had completed so many programs, and read so many wonderful books, but none of it lasted.
2. What did we do in the program that was helpful for you, or that you really appreciated?
I found the structure and progression of the program really helpful, all of the information was provided in manageable chunks that built on what had come before. By the time we moved into the most challenging elements of the program I felt I had been well prepared as I had done the soul searching and personal exploration necessary to take it on. I felt the support provided by Tera and Alison, as well as all of the other members of the group was incredibly valuable, I really appreciated having a safe space in which I could fully express myself without fear of judgement.
3. What changed? How is life different now that you’ve completed the course?
Through the process of doing this course I have seen such huge shifts in all areas of my life. I am finally able to recognize the necessity and importance of personal responsibility. I have had “aha” moments before, but they never stuck. I see now that was because I was missing the personal responsibility component. I know better, and this awareness allows me to do better.
I also see that taking personal responsibility has allowed me to make peace with my past actions (or inactions) and behaviours, because in taking responsibility for my life I can actively change the outcome by committing to be present and aware and make better choices through this awareness in the future. It is incredibly liberating, and the level of awareness and connection I have with the people in my life is huge. I still have ups and downs, but I am now equipped with the tools to be able to manage and move through these experiences rather than staying stuck. This in and of itself is a huge gift!
4. Do you feel your investment was worth it?
I felt this program was absolutely worth it, and I am so grateful to have invested in myself enough to commit to and trust the process! It was challenging to come face to face with my inner demons, but I embraced these challenging experiences, knowing that I would be in a much better place once I reached the other side.
5. Would you recommend the Virtual Retreat to other women? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this program. It instigated a huge paradigm shift for me. I view life through a different lens now, one in which personal responsibility plays a large role, and I am accountable to myself in an entirely new way. The tools I obtained from this course are invaluable, and have allowed me to move forward in a very positive way.
