4 Summer Juices To Beat The Heat and Boost Your Energy

~ excerpt from “A Diva’s Guide to Juices & Cocktails” by Angela Elliott

Juicing is a great way to give your body a nice zap of highly concentrated nutrition. Juicing breaks apart a plant’s cell walls and gives you ready access to lots of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other goodies. So instead of having to digest its way through tough layers of cellulose, your body gets the good stuff right away.

And fresh juice has the added benefit of being, well, fresh. That means that its nutrients are in excellent shape and positioned to do their best for your body. When you buy bottled juice at the store, it’s never quite so fresh (and often isn’t fresh at all). Bottled juice is usually pasteurized, which means that all its health-giving enzymes have been destroyed by high heat.

Plus, since juicing removes the filling fiber that’s present in fruits and vegetables, you can drink a lot more juice and get a lot more nutrients. Neat, huh?
