It can seem a bit “vague” and esoteric, this idea of trying to “find one’s purpose”, but once you understand a few things about it, it’s really quite simple. I thought I would address a few tips that can help anyone find their purpose no matter how lost you may feel it is.

First of all, let it be clear that you need one. Period. There is no negotiation on this point. To the degree that you have one, your life flows, things happen and you are motivated and engaged in the Game of Life.

To the degree that you’ve lost it, you flounder without direction and feel like a ship lost at sea. When you have a clearly articulated purpose, then you know where you’re going and what you’re doing, and you will choose friends and life circumstances that’ll help you get there.

First of All, What IS a Purpose?

A purpose is the impulse or intention you put towards achieving a goal. But not the goal for a car or a fancy house, or a great dress. The goal is something that contributes to Life. It gives, it doesn’t take. It’s about what YOU offer Life, not what you get out of it.

Now, you don’t need to have a planetary vision of healing to have afinding your purpose purpose. Maybe it’s to dance, to paint, to write, to create a vision for people to believe in — to express your hopes, dreams, and ideas in a remarkable way, or to raise children with confidence in a world that easily overwhelms young spirits.

If you’re feeling low, maybe it’s just to wake up and smile at one person in the street — to love yourself enough that you can sprinkle it on a neighbour, a cat, or a tree. Start somewhere!

How To Find and State Your Purpose

finding your purposeYou may be surprised to find that your purpose is hidden in some of your biggest fears, concerns and obstacles. The things you’ve overcome, you can now help others overcome. What makes you shine? What do you love to do? What gets your little goose pimples popping and makes you feel ALIVE?

Look there and start to make some bold statements about what you do and what you want to do with your life and the time you have here on this spinning blue ball in the cosmos!

When you articulate your purpose, there are three things to ask yourself:

1. Does it say what it does? Does it define itself clearly.

2. What sets this goal apart from any others? What makes YOU different from everyone else out there?

3. Does it engage? Does it create a spark of excitement when you read it? When you share it with other people, do they feel excited about it?

Be Bold, Be Yourself!

The thing about a purpose is that most people sell themselves short.finding your purpose Most people underestimate and understate what they can and want to do.

I’m not saying you need to save the planet, but I am saying that if your goal is to save the planet, be bold enough to state it as such.

This is for no one else but YOU.

There’s no quiz.

There’s no judge.

This is simply the bold and beautiful articulation of the thing that you most dare and dream of doing. And you won’t be able to do it, or even come close, if you don’t at least gather up your courage and start to at least SAY it! Yell it out to the world!

Love and purpose,

What if all you needed to improve your health, self-confidence and communication skillsrelationships with other people was a big, fat dose of ENTHUSIASM!? In February 2014, an experiment began to prove that enthusiasm alone could bring a child through the grip of autism. The results were undeniable and now we’re bringing The Enthusiasm Experiment to the world. Sign up here and join us on August 23rd when the world’s happiest experiment begins.
