Adding Joy Energy to Your Routine in 5 Minutes a Day

As women it seems so much of our time is spent nurturing and caring for others. We are planting seeds, helping them grow with our love and devotion. We share, teach, care for and enrich the lives of those around us. We spread love and joy and brilliance to the special people in our lives, helping them to feel safe and secure.

But what about our inner feminine wisdom? To me this gorgeous wisdom is an awakening to our potential. It comes in different sizes and shapes (imagine it just like different body shapes and sizes). These ‘flowers’ are unique to each woman. Some women really thrive and enjoy nurturing their creative spirits by making beautiful art, jewelry, creating beautiful gardens, singing or journalling. While other women take time to be still with meditation or reading books where they learn more about their spirituality.

Either way if we deny the part of us that is unique, special, interesting and different from those around us – our feminine flower – we can quickly feel the repercussions. We become distant, exhausted, stressed out, depressed, even guilty for wanting something else. We can begin feeling like we can’t give ourselves permission to have joy or express ourselves without feeling like we will be judged or laughed at. It can be hard to bring more of the fullness of the feminine beauty into our lives. Trying these simple techniques might inspire you to get started!

1. Bring Beauty to Your Environment meditation

If you are short on time the most simple way to bring beauty and femininity into your space is to buy yourself flowers or pick flowers from your garden and place them on your desk or near your workspace. A simple way to enjoy beauty while being reminded you are as unique & beautiful as the flower.

2. Set the Tone for Your Day

Create space in your life for growth, healing & joy energy. Before getting out of the bed in the morning and with your eyes still closed create a loving intention for your day. Something that will keep you motivated and inspired. An example could be something like: I intend to nourish my body today with whole, delicious & healthy foods that keep me feeling my best or I intend to enjoy positive, fun experiences today.

3. Spend Time Doing Something You Love

Whether this is adding in Yoga Sun Salutations in the morning because it makes you feel grounded or it’s playing barefoot in the grass with your kids, do something each day that makes you smile, makes you feel good and brings your true essence to the surface.

It doesn’t need to be hard or complicated  to bring more of your authenticity into your daily life. It’s really about gentle reminders, and taking 5 minutes per day is all you will need to begin feeling focused and on track again. Sometimes we get off track and that is perfectly normal. What have you noticed about how you feel when you get off center? What is your feminine flower asking for more of? When we feel good and know the activities that boost our energy and inspiration it is much easier to keep moving forward in positive, fun ways!
