Gluten and Dairy? Just say NO.

I would not have believed it!  If anyone had asked me a year ago that I would easily give up all dairy and gluten I would have laughed heartily.  (No dainty giggle for this gal!)  I did, however, stop indulging in these items and am so happy about the decision.  How, do you ask, can you give up your favorite foods such as ice cream and breads?  That was definitely my question as I dove right into the challenge set before me.Bread and milk

Well, with green smoothies and fresh produce in hand that is exactly what I did!  This took place a mere three weeks ago and I am feeling wonderful.  I have increased energy.  I’m sleeping more soundly and have a general “top of the world” kind of feeling.  I really did not think this was possible for me.  I’ve had an over-whelming sluggishness in my life for a very, very long time.  I thought this was just part of what was normal for me and accepted all the feelings that came with it.

But this past week I found a new bonus!  I had no PMS symptoms.  Unbelievable!  No mood swings, angry outbursts, screaming, yelling, crying, or miserable feelings.  I had a bit of a headache but that could be attributed to many other things in my life, least of the entire flu bug that has finally said farewell.

My thoughts?  If you’ve ever doubted that going without dairy or gluten could make a difference in your life perhaps now is the time to take on that challenge.
